      This is definitely a community favorite in Mission Viejo. It's so cool that they have pictures of customers on the wall. All the chefs greet you when you come in. They have amazing deals on sushi during weekdays so it's a go-to lunch spot for me to satisfy that sushi craving.

      It was my first time eating here. I ordered a Philadelphia roll and it did not come with avocado. I then asked them if they can put avocado in it and they said yes sure. I had ordered a super salmon roll, which is fried. I ate one piece and I did not like it so I put it to the side. The owner or one of the sushi chefs comes up to me and says we can no longer give you service. I say what he says we can no longer give you service. I say why he says because you don't like the food. Never in my life have I been told that and I even told him that I was going to pay for it. That wasn't a concern. He embarrassed me in front of customers and made a scene. I would definitely not recommend this place.

      I got the sushi combo with spicy tuna roll. The tuna sushi was rubbery, and the salmon sushi was overly fishy. The albacore was okay and the spicy tuna roll was decent. Really disappointing sushi quality overall. The waitresses were super nice, but it doesn't make up for the sushi quality...

      I am hesitant to write this review because the waitress that helped us was so friendly but I feel like I need to let others know before they order. This is the worst sushi I've had in a while...the fish portions were small, probably as a result of their buy 1, get 1 50% off promo but I would have paid full price for the right amount of fish. We got three rolls and honestly I couldn't tell them apart, they all ended up being a California roll with a small piece of fish on top. And not a good California roll...like what I would expect at a gas station. We ended up having to get something else for dinner after my husband drive 10 minutes each way which was very disappointing.

      This place has some pretty decent rolls! The flavors were good but I just wish there was more integrity in the rolls and they didn't fall apart. Lively environment!

      //CONTEXT//
      Was looking for "grubby" sushi rolls in the local area

      //ENVIRONMENT//
      Sit down with a decent amount of seats for all party sizes! Lively and fun environment, def can feel the energy here

      //FOOD//
      * Spider roll - my favorite roll! The crab was deeply fried well! I liked the flavors but everything just fell apart upon eating and wasn't wrapped well

      * Sunset roll - salmon with shrimp tempura inside and fried onions - the flavor was tasty! Fried onions were amazing! The shrimp tempura inside was soggy/cold though and didn't have a crisp! Integrity was poor/not rolled well

      * Mission roll - crab on outside shrimp tempura inside - good but same thing where tempura was soggy! The flavor was delicious tho

      * Awwsome roll: baked mixed crab and salmon and shrimp tempura inside! Okay but was our least favorite

      //PRICE//
      BOGO 50 Monday to Thursday so $50 for four rolls and a coke!

      //OVERALL//
      I would come back! Flavors are there and some rolls are hit or miss

      This sushi place is undeniably popular, evident from the plethora of pictures adorning their walls. During our visit, we observed a continuous stream of regulars coming and going, which speaks volumes about its appeal. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the food is truly remarkable. The fish is consistently fresh, and the prices are in line with the average sushi market. However, I did notice on a few occasions that the rolls were looser and prone to falling apart easily, which gave me pause and made me wonder if there was a new member on the team. Despite this, I still recommend giving this place a try.

      My family been going to Samurai sushi for over 12 years. This is solid delicious fresh sushi .. hands down and the prices are not the highest, comparing to other local sushi places. This time I ordered salmon sushi, baked mussles and oysters. Their oysters are super fresh and great seasoning. I'm so picky whenever I want oysters because it has to be fresh , otherwise you could get really sick from eating it. For sure I'll be back for more fresh oysters.

      Still a solid spot for happy hour, but they blew me away with their Uni. Didn't expect such high quality delicious uni (though you pay for it!). Great service as always and decent rolls. Sashimi is still your best bet here for the value.
